Wright choice at ambitious Advantex heads further appointments

Tuesday 17 October 2006

Rapidly growing Houghton-le-Spring IT company Advantex Network Solutions Ltd is maintaining its fast-track to growth with several key appointments.

Michael Wright, 32, joins from Barclays Bank as office manager with specific responsibility for human resources planning as well as administrative and office functions.

Former Tynedale Council employee Michael Common comes in as IT support officer tasked with overseeing Internet Protocol (IP) systems including network cameras (IP CCTV), door access control and wireless installations and surveys.

Joining from Coniston as an accounts clerk is Julie Harris, who will be working closely with Advantex director David O'Connell on post operational financial tasks.

These latest appointments follow the recruitment last month of several network engineers, apprentices and a new business account manager to support the company's expansion this year.

Advantex designs, installs and commissions’ data and voice local area networks (LANs) for commercial and industrial companies and the new appointments bring the number of full and part-time people working at the firm to over 30.

The appointments come as the company smashed a £1 million turnover target this summer – hitting its six-year target two years earlier than anticipated.

Operations director David O’Connell said these appointments reflect the policy of recruiting highly skilled, top quality people who can help to take the business forward.

"I'm delighted that Michael, Julie and Michael are joining us as we gear up for a very exciting 2007 in terms of growth and the introduction of several new services and technologies.

"With their expertise and experience, they will all be invaluable assets and I'm sure will contribute significantly to our growing success."

Clients include Nissan, furniture retailer SCS, Caterpillar Articulated Trucks, NSK Steering, Simpson’s Malt and wood-based panels manufacturer Egger (UK) Ltd.

Advantex achieved the prestigious ISO9001/2000 industry quality mark within its first year of trading.
